Forever Friends Engagement Card

Hello folks,

I hope you have all had a good weekend, Monday is almost upon us again already.  We went out for a lovely meal tonight to celebrate Mother's Day, unfortunately Rab couldn't come with us as he has the lurgy and didn't feel like food.  I know how he's feeling because I was the same last night but luckily was fine when I got up in the morning.  Anyway, hope he feels better by the morning.

Tonight's card is one for my cousin and his partner.  They surprised everyone by getting engaged recently, they are a great couple and we are delighted.

The stamped image is a Forever Friends one from Docrafts which I've coloured with Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from the Docrafts Portobello Road collection and I've distressed the edges a little.  The heart dies I've used are by X-cut and I've finished my card with some lace, spotty organza ribbon and some pearls.  I've printed out the sentiment from my pc.

Enjoy the week ahead whatever you have planned.

A Quick Hunkydory One...

Good evening peeps,

Tonight's card is one I made to give my Aunt for Mother's Day.  My Aunt is very special to me because she has been just like a Mum to me since my mum (her sister) died when I was in my early teens.  I don't know what I'd have done without her.

Unfortunately time didn't permit to colour an image from scratch so I've gone for a bright floral design from Hunkydory.  I've more or less moved away from toppers but they have their place when you want to make a quick card and you can still add your own twist to them if you want to.  This is the first time I've used anything by Hunkydory, these were actually free with a magazine recently, I can see why they are so popular as they are well made and very colourful.

I've added some Mirri-card to the topper and paper that came with the set and printed out a sentiment from my pc.  The only other additions are spotty organza ribbon including a double bow, some mosaic gems and a pink pearl.

Thank you for taking the time to come and visit my blog.  Hope you have a good weekend.

Another LOTV one...

Hi there,

So there seems to be a bit of a theme going on here lol.  Tonight's card was one I had to make at short notice when my daughter got invited to a birthday party at the weekend.  It was a combined party for her BFF's big brother's 13th Birthday and her little sister's first birthday which were within a few days of each other!  Luckily I had this pre-coloured LOTV image to hand which, with it's single candle cake, is ideal for a little girl's first birthday!

The papers and bobble trim were all magazine freebies.  I've added faux stitching to the papers and printed out a number one on to coloured paper.  The card is finished off with matching ribbon and bow and two colours of pearls.

Hope to see you again soon,
Shona xx

Back Again With LOTV

Good evening blogging friends,

Gosh it's been ages since I've been on here with a card.  I've had a busy few weeks with one thing and another and also printer problems left me unable to finish a couple of cards I had on the go that were waiting for sentiments.  After much faffing around with my old printer I've bit the bullet and gone for a new one.  I can't believe I've got one the same brand as I had but with more features for half the price I paid over 8 years ago!  At least now as well as being back in business with sentiments I can also print off some of the digi images I've had to put to one side.

Tonight's card is one a friend asked me to make for her kids to give her mum in law.  I was toying with the idea of buying the stamp of this LOTV image when spookily the very same day this pre stamped and coloured version arrived through my letter box as part of a challenge prize, how lucky is that?

I've chosen Docrafts Capsule Collection Papers in toning shades and added faux stitching and kraft cardstock.  I've also made a flower using the same papers and a Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die set.  I've added a button to the centre of the flower which I've tied with twine.  I've finished off my card with some cream lace from Hobbycraft, spotty organza ribbon, pearls and a computer generated sentiment.

It's late so it's bed for me now, hope I can sleep with the strong winds we have tonight, it sounds wild out there!
