Another Baby Girl Card

Hi there,

Oh well it was back to work for me today and back to school for Iona, I have to say she was more keen than me!!!

Today's card is one I made at the weekend when Iona and I were doing some crafting together.  It's yet another baby girl card, we've really had a spate of girls lately!  I've gone for another Forever Friends image from the New Arrival DVD.

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and I've used some ancient Honey & Hugs papers which were a magazine freebie.  The button and pearl border came about as a happy accident as the glue was showing through the rather thin papers.  The sentiment is by LOTV and I've finished off the card with 2 kinds of ribbon.

If you get the chance to have a wee peek I've now got a cookery blog (link on the top right) with a few recipes which I hope to build on over time.

Thank you for looking,
Shona xx

Forever Friends Baby Girl Patchwork Card

Hello,

I hope you are all fine and haven't been affected by the adverse weather conditions Bertha brought a few days ago.  We weren't too badly affected in Inverness itself but the surrounding area was hit quite badly.  I think the train lines East to Aberdeen and South to Perth are still closed.

Tonight's card is another baby girl card, all our friends and relatives have been having girls lately there hasn't been any boys for a while now.  I've gone back to a patchwork theme again as I really like the effect and it's great for using up wee scraps of paper.

The digi is from the Docrafts Forever Friends New Arrival DVD which was free with a magazine a wee while back.  I'm usually a bit nervous of using CDs or DVDs but I find the Docrafts Digital Designer ones are quite straight forward to use.  I coloured in the image with Promarkers and all the papers used are from the Hot Diggety Dog collection, also by Docrafts.  I've used a Spellbinders Nesty set to die cut the patchwork 'swatches' and added faux stitching with a Micron pen.  The sentiment stamp is by LOTV and the circle dies are by X-cut.  All I've added are some pearls and a spotty organza ribbon bow.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Die Cut and Embossed Birthday Card

Good Morning,

Well it's been a busyish first week of the holidays, Iona had swimming lessons every morning last week and then we went to Belladrum which is a fab little 2 day festival in our local area.  This year the headline acts were Sir Tom Jones and Razorlight.  My other half was also DJing at the Roller Disco at the festival and Iona had a whale of a time roller skating while her dad played the beats!  The weather unfortunately has taken a turn for the worse so we've been holed up at home for the last couple of days.

Today's card is one I made last week and I have to say it wasn't an original idea, it's based on a card I found on Pinterest.  I am absolutely hooked on Pinterest there are such fab ideas for cardmaking and life in general!

The card was made almost entirely from two 12x12 sheets of cardstock.  and I've used various embossing folders to add texture.  The Tattered Floral and Flourish dies are both by Tim Holtz for Sizzix.  All I've added is a matching button tied with paper cord some gems and a rub on sentiment from Kaisercraft.

As this isn't an original idea I'm not entering it into any challenges but I did enjoy making it as it was a change from my usual style.

Thank you for taking a look and if you are interested I now have a cookery blog (link on the right hand side of the screen) there's just a couple of recipes on it so far but I hope to keep adding to it regularly.

Patchwork Santa

Hi There,

Yay holiday time at last!!! I'm not super excited because I'm going away anywhere, I'm just glad to be finished work for a fortnight!  As you can tell from the lack of posts the last few weeks have been busy and more than a wee bit stressful, with a few late nights just before I finished on Friday.  Anyway, holidays mean more crafting time and that can only be a good thing!

Today's card uses a Forever Friends image I coloured weeks, if not months, ago with my Promarkers.

The papers are all magazine freebies from a couple of years back and I've used a Spellbinders die to cut the swatches for the 'patchwork'.  I've used the papers again for the snowflakes which were made with the X-cut freebie die that came with this month's Creativity magazine.  The circle and scallop circle dies are also from X-cut. The sentiment is by LOTV and I've added Hobbycraft gingham ribbon and large Dovecraft pearls to finish my card.

Thanks for stopping by and having a peek at my blog, it's much appreciated.
